The Professional Committee of Art Galleries
Since 1947, the Professional Committee of Art Galleries ensures for its members, gallery owners of the first or second market, from antique dealers to contemporary art galleries, a union role of information, advice and defense of common interests with the competent authorities.
It promotes the central role of galleries in the artistic and cultural environment by relying on their specificities, their expertise, their work to promote artists or artistic trends.
The Committee thus maintains lasting relationships with all private and public stakeholders in the art world and takes part in the development of market regulations, fostering the growth of the entire sector. The Committee informs and advises its 330 member galleries on the specificities of their status, their duties and obligations, and assists them in technical matters.
For several years, the Professional Committee of Art Galleries has been involved in major cultural events in order to build a better visibility of art galleries, true partners of artistic creation. It also works to develop the French art scene internationally.
