ARTS
WEEK
Welcome to the Arts Week programme!
This series of events beyond the fair itself is intended to highlight collections of museums in Paris and the Île-de-France region and major exhibitions of the season.
The public was invited to attend special events which provide a great opportunity for exchange and interaction, thanks to the curators and directors of the institutions that are partners of FAB PARIS.
To register, click on the cross next to “register for this visit”, then complete and submit the form.
A first registration confirmation message will be sent to you followed by a second one, a few days before the event, containing the practical information necessary for your visit.
Please ensure that you do not register for two events taking place at the same time.
Given the limited number of places for each visit, registrations will be treated by order of registration, with a limit of two visits per person.
Any visit that is booked but not attended will result in the inability to register for subsequent years.
The 2025 Arts Season has come to an end.

Exhibition “The Rediscovered Gesture: Reconstruction of the Celtic Torque from Montans” at L’École des Arts Joailliers
L’École des Arts Joailliers highlights a completely unprecedented research project at the crossroads of archaeology and the history of craftsmanship: the reconstruction of a Celtic torque discovered in 1843 in Montans in the Tarn region, dating from the Second Iron Age (450 – 25 BE).
Part of experimental archaeology, the aim of this collaborative adventure was to understand the craftsmanship that enabled the creation of this Celtic necklace dating back more than 2,000 years and whose complexity exceeds our understanding, in order to reproduce it. The result of collective work, the exhibition celebrates the work of the hand and the artisan.
In addition to the exhibition visit, you will also discover the architecture and history of the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau, which has housed all the activities of L’École des Arts Joailliers since June 2024. This 18th century mansion, listed as a Historic Monument, is one of the oldest private residences preserved in the Grands Boulevards district in Paris and owes its name to its first occupant: Count Florimond-Claude de Mercy-Argenteau, an influential figure who was the ambassador of Maria Theresa of Austria to the court of the King of France.

The Museum preserves a wide range of arms and armors, four of which were among the fifteen sent to European sovereigns during the archipelago’s short opening period (1543-1639). One of these armors was reproduced in the Galerie des Glaces at the Château de Versailles, painted by Charles Le Brun.
During this visit, you will also discover the storage room where will be presented a selection of complementary japanese arms and armors. These items will soon be treated during a big restoration project.

Vertigo of the absolute.

The Giacometti Institute presents a new exhibition dedicated to the intellectual and artistic friendship between Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre and Alberto Giacometti.
Entitled “Beauvoir, Sartre, Giacometti. Vertigo of the Absolute,” it explores the powerful connections that united these three major figures of the 20th century. Through an approach that is simultaneously philosophical, literary, and artistic, the exhibition examines the quest for the absolute in art, thought, and life.
Between philosophy, literature, and sculpture, the exhibition is built around major works, The Invisible Object (1934), The Hand (1947), and The Falling Man (1950), previously unseen archives, and an evocation of Simone de Beauvoir’s room, her living and writing space, located just steps away from the Giacometti Institute. Contemporary artist Agnès Geoffray will give form to the concept of vertigo through a series of photographs.

Visit by Mr. Frédéric Dassas, Chief Curator of the Department of Decorative Arts at the Louvre Museum.
Count Isaac de Camondo was one of the major donors to the Department of Decorative Arts at the Louvre, and the display of his collection in rooms adorned with 18th-century wood paneling marks a significant moment in the museum’s history.
This visit offers an opportunity to discover some of the key works from his bequest, to recall how they were first presented within the museum, and to place them in the broader context of the early 20th-century effort to assemble major decorative art collections at the Louvre.

The Hôtel des Invalides between History and Memories museographical itinerary provides an introduction to a tour of the Musée de l’Armée, by retracing the history of the Invalides site.
Formerly the disabled pensioners’ refectory, this room offers a journey through the history of the Hôtel des Invalides, from its foundation in the late 17th century to the creation of the Musée de l’Armée in the early 20th century.
Founded in 1670 by Louis XIV (1638–1715) in order to house and care for Royal Army veterans, the Hôtel des Invalides is a combination of barracks, religious institution and hospital. The site then acquired a new commemorative function by fostering French military glory under the First Republic (1792–1804) and First Empire (1804–1815). Inaugurated in 1706, with the construction of Napoleon I’s tomb in 1842 the Dôme des Invalides also became a funerary monument. The buildings were gradually transformed into a museum space and opened as the Musée de l’Armée in 1905.
A key witness to French history and a royal site since its foundation, throughout its history the Hôtel des Invalides mainly evolved according to the political regimes that succeeded one another over the centuries. The room is organised chronologically and retraces the site’s history and founding era. Three successive periods are outlined: the Royal (1670–1789), the Imperial (1789–1870) and the Republican (post–1870).

Ossip Zadkine, sculptures and drawings from the 1920s and 1930s
The Zadkine Museum offers a tour of its permanent collections, followed by an exclusive viewing of a selection of masterpieces from its graphic arts collections, presented in the former studio where Zadkine taught sculpture in Montparnasse.
Just a short walk from the Luxembourg Gardens, the Zadkine Museum is housed in the artist’s home-studio, which became a museum in 1982 thanks to a bequest from Valentine Prax, Zadkine’s wife who was also a painter. The Zadkine Museum brings together the works of this great 20th century sculptor, who took part in major avant-garde movements, such as Cubism, and was also a privileged witness to Montparnasse’s golden age.
Echoing the Zadkine Art Deco exhibition, which will open in November 2025, the tour focuses on Zadkine’s creations from the 1920s and 1930s. It offers the opportunity to discover, in addition to the museum visit, another of Zadkine’s studios where the museum’s archives and library are now kept.
The tours will be led by Cécilie Champy-Vinas, Director of the Zadkine Museum, and the museum’s curatorial team.
