GALERIE RATTON-LADRIÈRE

Established for more than fifty years 14, rue de Marignan, Gallery Charles Ratton & Guy Ladrière settled in the “Carré Rive Gauche” some fourty years ago; first rue de Beaune, then quai Voltaire.

Beginning his career after World War I, Charles Ratton soon established him as a major expert and dealer in medieval art, as well as African and primitive arts. He was also involved in contemporary art, organizing in 1936 the first exhibition of Surrealist sculpture.

With Guy Ladrière, the Gallery interests expanded to Antique, Renaissance and Baroque sculpture, as well as works of art, and paintings and drawings from the XVI century to the XX century, interests shared by his daughter Sandrine, who joined the gallery in 2001.

The Gallery participated to the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, to the Foire Internationale des Antiquaires de Belgique every year in Brussels, but now concentrates in exhibitions in its refurbished premises.

The Gallery has established a worldwide reputation of quality and expertise, and museums such as the Louvre, Cluny, Versailles, Rouen, Dijon, Besançon, Limoges, Beauvais, Lyon, Montpellier, Toulouse and abroad the J.P. Getty, The National gallery in Washington, The Metropolitan Museum, the National Gallery in Ottawa, the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo, The Uffizi Gallery in Florence, The Galleria Estense in Modena, or the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Copenhague, as well as the Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow, together with distinguished private collectors.
