Antiquarian bookseller and manuscript expert, Jean-Baptiste de Proyart began his career at Sotheby’s in London in 1993, before opening the books and manuscripts department at Sotheby’s Paris.
Independent since 2004, specializing in the appraisal, purchase and resale of manuscripts and antiquarian books, Jean-Baptiste de Proyart has organized numerous prestigious sales of book and manuscript collections, including those of Pierre Berès, Jean Patou, André Tissot-Dupont and François Mitterrand.
Jean-Baptiste de Proyart is a member of the SFEP.

An extravagant book.
Apparently, the only copy of one of the most monumental works of Chiaroscuro to have surfaced on the market since 1997.
Superb two-color engravings depicting one of the architectural wonders of Bologna and Italy, still visible today: the Portico di San Luca.
Placed end to end, this panorama of two-color engravings would reach 56 meters in length.
Formerly owned by Carlo Alberto Chiesa, then by Giannalisa Feltrinelli.
