A prestigious mission in Shanghai to attract Asian collectors and media
As a prelude to its 2025 edition, FAB Paris is intensifying its international outreach strategy with a remarkable mission in China. On June 13 and 14, the Parisian fair orchestrated a series of exceptional events in Shanghai, confirming its ambition to become an essential meeting point for Asian collectors.
A prestigious presentation in the heart of Shanghai
FAB Paris chose the prestigious setting of the Rodin Art Center Shanghai to unveil the contours of its 2025 edition to major players in the Asian art market.
This initiative, spearheaded by Alfred van Lelyveld, a member of the programme committee and co-founder of the Trebosc & van Lelyveld gallery, and Louis de Bayser, President of FAB Paris, is part of a methodical conquest of international markets.
The two-day event included a press conference attended by some thirty journalists (CCTV, Shanghai Morning Post, Tatler, Elle deco China, Shanghai TV, Ideat China, etc.), exclusive interviews and a magnificent reception attended by collectors from Shanghai and the surrounding area.

The presence of Mr. Joan Valadou, French Consul General in Shanghai, gave these meetings a cultural dimension of the highest order, underlining the importance that French institutions place on FAB Paris’s influence in Asia.
This targeted communication strategy reflects the fair’s desire to forge lasting ties with an Asian clientele particularly sensitive to 19th and 20th-century European art, the historical specialties of FAB Paris inherited from La Biennale des Antiquaires and Fine Arts Paris.

Wu Jing and the Rodin Art Center: an exceptional partnership
The choice of the Rodin Art Center as the setting for these events is not fortuitous. This institution, the only foreign museum officially dedicated to Auguste Rodin and authorized by the Rodin Museum in Paris, perfectly embodies the cultural ties that FAB Paris intends to cultivate between France and Asia.
Inaugurated in September 2024 in the Shanghai Expo Culture Park in Pudong, this 4,200 m² art centre houses the largest collection of works by Rodin in Asia, assembled by its director Wu Jing.
She is now FAB Paris’ ambassador to Asia, representing the cultural bridge that the show wishes to build with the Asian continent.
The center’s inaugural exhibition, entitled “Rodin: Pivotal Figure towards Modernity,” perfectly illustrates this mission of cultural transmission that Wu Jing shares with FAB Paris. Her commitment to artistic communication between East and West makes her a natural partner to accompany the Parisian fair’s development in Asia.

The appointment is set to discover the treasures that FAB Paris has in store, from September 20 to 24, 2025 at the Grand Palais, in a renewed dialogue between European art and global perspectives.
