The Musée du Grand Siècle
guest of honour at Fine Arts Paris 2026

The Musée du Grand Siècle, due to open in 2028, will present its project and collections at Fine Arts Paris from 19 to 23 September 2026, in a setting designed by François-Joseph Graf.

An institution dedicated to 17th-century France and collecting

Since 2019, the Hauts-de-Seine department has been pursuing an ambitious cultural project: the Musée du Grand Siècle, dedicated to 17th-century France and collecting.

Born from the donation of artworks from Pierre Rosenberg’s collection (Pierre Rosenberg, honorary president of the Louvre Museum and member of the Académie Française), it includes a collectors’ cabinet, a research centre and a museum devoted to the “Grand Siècle” (1590–1720), conceived as a museum of civilization. Its exhibition will cover all aspects of 17th-century French history (arts, sciences, politics, religion, daily life, etc.).

This new institution aims to become a leading reference for this major period in French history. Located in the former royal barracks of Saint-Cloud, it will open its doors in 2028.

A showcase for discovering the key pieces of the future “Grand Siècle” exhibition

The collection of drawings, also from the Rosenberg donation, was featured at the 2022 edition of the Salon du Dessin.

In 2026, the Musée du Grand Siècle is delighted to once again join forces with the Agence d’Événements Culturels teams to present its project and collections at Fine Arts Paris.

On this occasion, it intends to evoke the “Grand Siècle“ route that will be displayed in its future permanent galleries in Saint-Cloud: paintings, sculptures, furniture, precious objects and everyday items will be brought together to tell the story of the arts, sciences and society in 17th-century France.

The scenography of the space occupied by the Musée du Grand Siècle is designed by decorator François-Joseph Graf and will provide an elegant setting for the presentation of the major works to be exhibited there.
