The Fondation Carmignac presents “Sea, Pop & Sun,” an exhibition that summons the Pop spirit of the 1960s and 1970s at the Villa Carmignac, on the island of Porquerolles.
A journey through the golden age of Pop Art
Bringing together more than 80 works, including 15 from the Carmignac Collection, the exhibition places Pop Art icons – Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Marjorie Strider, Evelyne Axell, Martial Raysse – in dialogue with contemporary artists who extend or interrogate the movement, such as Théo Mercier, Derrick Adams, Cosima von Bonin and Judy Chicago.
The exhibition’s title borrows from a song by Serge Gainsbourg and invites visitors into a seaside escape, at a time when the sexual revolution was overturning conventions and everything seemed possible.

The Villa Carmignac’s garden, awarded the “Jardin remarquable” label, can be visited in echo to the exhibition. The cultural programme includes guided tours, a scented tour of the garden, a tour in French Sign Language, and evening visits during the summer.
