Founded in 1952 by Huguette Berès, Galerie Berès is located on the Left Bank across from the Louvre. It is a family-run house renowned for its expertise in 19th and 20th-century avant-garde art. Initially specializing in Japanese prints and Nabis artists, it has established itself as a benchmark in the field of modern art, from post-impressionism to abstraction.
Under the direction of Anisabelle Berès, through a rigorous policy of exhibitions and reference publications, the gallery has contributed to a better understanding and critical recognition of many artists, maintaining close ties with collectors and institutions.
Today directed by Florence Montanari Berès, after more than twenty-five years within the gallery, she pursues an exacting vision based on quality, insight, and the consistency of the works. The arrival of Capucine Montanari reinforces this family continuity and supports the gallery’s development.
