Opened in 1947 by Dina Vierny on the advice of Matisse and Jeanne Bucher, the gallery is now the oldest in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris, and has retained its original setting, designed by Auguste Perret.
Inseparable from Aristide Maillol, whose estate it has represented since its founding, the gallery has always been distinguished by its great eclecticism: the Second School of Paris (PoliakoV, Reigl), the naïve painters (Séraphine, Bombois, Bauchant), Russian nonconformists (Kabakov, Boulatov), and other more unconventional figures (Robert Couturier or Ra’anan Levy).
Since 2021, her grandsons, Pierre and Alexandre Lorquin, have carried on this prestigious legacy by opening it up to contemporary art. This ambition came to fruition with the opening, in 2025, of a second space on Rue de Seine, dedicated to both emerging and established artists, both French and international.
