Founded by Edmond Sagot in 1881, the Sagot Le Garrec Gallery is now run by Nicolas Romand, a fifth-generation art dealer. Located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the gallery specializes in the sale, appraisal, and purchase of original prints, drawings, and illustrated books from the 19th century to the present day.
The gallery possesses an extensive collection of documents and is now considered one of the leading resources on the history of modern printmaking. The Sagot Le Garrec archives, housed in the Jacques Doucet collection at the Library of the Institut d’Histoire de l’Art (INHA), are frequently consulted by researchers, students, and museum curators.
The Sagot Le Garrec Gallery publishes catalogs and organizes exhibitions to offer a wide selection of works to its clients : museums, institutions, dealers, and collectors. It participates in the Paris Print Fair.
At Fine Arts Paris, Sagot Le Garrec will present a selection of works that showcase the diversity of practices on paper and the richness of the history of modern and contemporary printmaking.
From the great masters of modern art to postwar and contemporary artists, the gallery continues its mission of showcasing works on paper, emphasizing the quality of the works, their history, and their dialogue with contemporary art.
