The gallery Brimo de Laroussilhe was founded in 1908 by Nicolas Brimo, an Armenian from Alep arriving in Paris from Constantinople. He soon went into partnership with his brother-in-law, Lucien Lascombe de Laroussilhe. The gallery was then open to a wide range of fields, although medieval art was already its main specialty.
Taken over in 1991 by Philippe Carlier, the gallery then became exclusively specialised in the Medieval and Renaissance arts.
In 2002, Marie-Amélie Carlier, after graduating in History of Art, joined her father. She took over the management of the gallery in 2010.
Under her leadership, the gallery has continued to uphold a tradition of research and rediscovery of major artworks from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, for both private collectors and major international museums.
